In this program, participants will develop a thorough understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with ‘smart urban mobility technologies’. In addition, they will learn about state-of-the-art strategies that help cities take advantage of smart transport technologies for the benefit of their citizens while managing the transition of their legacy urban transport systems.
Building on the global expertise obtained thanks to the IGLUS (Innovative Governance of Urban Systems) Action-Research project, participants in this 2-day program will learn about disruptive smart urban transport technologies as implemented in various cities around the globe. New business models associated with smart urban transport systems will be discussed and governance challenges that must be faced for the successful transition from legacy urban transport systems to more innovative, smart, urban transport (better called mobility) systems will be highlighted. In addition, this program will also outline state-of-the-art strategies implemented to successfully deal with disruptive innovations in the urban and metropolitan transport systems by way of real-world cases drawn from cities across the globe.
