Prof. Dr. Diego A. Rodríguez Lozano obtained his PhD in the Architectural Projects Department at the ETSAB of the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (UPC) in 2006. He also holds a Master degree in Urban Theory “Metropolis”, and also Master degree in Architecture, Art and Ephemeral Space from the same university (UPC).
Since early 2017 to the present day he holds the position of Associate Dean of Faculty at the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He was Head of the Architecture Department in Campus Monterrey at the same School from early 2013 to 2017, where he has been Full time professor from more than 20 years, teaching several graduate and undergraduate courses in Architectural and Urban Theory and Urban Studios. He was founder and coordinator of the Legorreta Tagliabue Architecture & Urban Studio at the same school and continued as main coordinator and professor of the Urbanism & Citizenship Studio until 2014. He had an important collaborative role within the urban regeneration project of the Monterrey Campus and its district (Distrito TEC Urban Project).
He has been part time professor at Elisava Design School in Barcelona and at the Barcelona Architecture Center (between 2002 and 2006). He has been a visiting professor at the University of Texas Austin School of Architecture, at the Instituto de Arquitectura, Diseño y Arte of the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, at the Universidad Internacional Alfonso VIII, and at the School of Architecture (ETSAB) of the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (UPC).He has participated actively at the Mexico Module of the IGLUS Executive Master since 2015 and has co-coordinated the US Module in Detroit in 2017.
