The IGLUS Executive Master (2014-2022)
Between 2014 and 2022 IGLUS was offering a unique global action-learning journey which has never been copied since. We brought together all the relevant stakeholders to urban infrastructure governance during two-week intensive action-learning modules, covering lectures by local academics and practitioners as well as field visits. Modules took place approximately every other month in a major metropolitan areas in Europe (Lyon, Dortmund, Moscow, St. Petersburg), the Americas (Mexico City, Chicago, New York, Detroit), Africa (Kampala, Nairobi), the Middle East (Istanbul, Dubai) and Asia (Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Seoul, Delhi, Hong Kong). Modules covered selected infrastructures (e.g., transport, energy, green, blue and brown infrastructures) as well as selected transversal topics (e.g., governance, financing, private sector participation, digitalization). In each of the metropolitan areas we were partnering each time with a local University and sometimes with local authorities. After completing five such 2-week action-learning modules and writing a 60-page Master thesis, the successful participants were awarded an Executive Master degree from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.
Online Action-Learning certificates
Building on our global network for a unique learning experience
As of 2023 we create a new type of online action-learning experience : during one week (Monday to Friday) and for 90-minute each day, we will hold online highly moderated discussions on specific cutting-edge urban infrastructure governance topics, triggered each time by short and provocative inputs by 4 to 5 experts (academics and practitioners) drawn from our global network, so as to illustrate the relevant perspectives on the selected topic.
The number of participants is each time limited to maximum 20 people (plus 4-5 experts and 2 IGLUS moderators). After completing the 5 online sessions during the week, and after writing a cap-stone paper of 3000 words, participants will obtain an IGLUS certificate. We plan to hold 4 to 6 such inline action-learning sessions a year. Watch out for upcoming announcements regarding topics, dates and application requirements and procedures.
Participation is each time limited to a maximum of 25 people, paying particular attention to geographical, professional, and disciplinary diversity. After completing the 4-day metropolitan action-learning experience, and after writing a cap-stone paper of 3000 words, participants will obtain an IGLUS certificate. We plan to hold 4 such events a year. Watch out for upcoming announcements regarding locations, dates, topics and application requirements and procedures.
